| Job Description: |
Coordinate all phases of grant proposal development from conception to submission and acceptance to reporting in collaboration with faculty, administrators, and college departments.
Provide leadership to faculty and staff to ensure effective proposal development, timely progress and project success, and reporting of funded activities.
Serve as the primary grant writer for high-priority grant opportunities as determined by the Executive Council.
Research and identify sources of funding, including federal, state, and public foundations. Maintain a library of grant sources, guides, and technical information. Collect and disseminate information about funding opportunities, promote grant opportunities, and the proposal development process.
Gather necessary statistical and background information from appropriate college areas and community partners to support grant requests. Compile and maintain a list of institutional/program needs in order to coordinate needs and funding sources.
Serve as final check-off for proposals prior to submission to the College President for signing and submission.
Develop measures for monitoring regulations of funding agencies to ensure that all required procedures are in place at the college.
Carry out special projects as needed in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer.
Work with the College Foundation to secure private grants and donations.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, education, public administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
EXPERIENCE / OTHER REQUIREMENTS
At least five years grant development and project management experience for a non-profit organization required, experience in higher education preferred. Demonstrated success as a principal writer of funded grants.
